Professor Nick Maskell is taking part in the Mallorca 312 cycle ride on Saturday 27th April, which involves cycling 140 miles and 5km of vertical height in one day, to raise money for Mesothelioma UK.

We had a wonderful cake decorating session by one of our patient’s wives who used to be a professional cake decorator. She provided cupcakes for us all to decorate and guided us through how to create a dog, reindeer and butterfly, thank you!
Great fun was had by all and it was a fabulous opportunity to bring out everyone’s creative side!

Meso UK has a campaign running at the moment ‘Don’t let the Dust Settle’. This is to get the government to agree to a timeframe for the safe removal of asbestos in our public buildings and to set up a national register of buildings that contain asbestos. We had a successful cake sale at our BBAFS meeting this month to support Mesothelioma UK’s fundraising campaign ‘Muffins for Meso’. Members and organisers baked and brought some yummy delights and raised over £60 for Mesothelioma UK!

Members of the BBAFS group enjoyed a fabulous boat trip around the Bristol harbourside and up to the Cumberland Basin. It was fascinating to see Bristol from the water and interesting commentary was provided on the sights of Bristol by the Bristol Packet Company.
